The debonair actor and singer appeared in numerous TV and film productions during his career including two alongside Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne - both in 1949. In It's Not Cricket he played the part of Valentine Christmas and in Stop Press Girl he had the role of the Airline Director.
Other film productions that he appeared in include The Loves of Madame Dubarry 1935, The Black Tulip 1937, Gaiety George 1946 which starred Richard Green and Ann Todd, as Group Captain Aspinall in School for Scoundrels 1946, Secret Flight 1946, The Wooden Horse 1950, The Moonraker 1958, A Night To Remember 1958.
His TV career included appearances in Wideawake 1957, Escape 1957, The Jazz Age 1968 and Hadleigh 1969. He also appeared in two episodes of Dad's Army -The Showing Up of Corporal Jones and The Loneliness of the Long Distance Walker.- he was the Brigadier in both episodes.
He died in his home town of York on 4th February 1987.
